Each year Kalamazoo County honors the top 1% of academic excellence through the Excellence in Education program. Since 1986, the Kalamazoo County Excellence in Education program has become one of the most noteworthy, exciting, and far-reaching recognition programs ever implemented in the Kalamazoo area.
The program has generated cooperative relationships, interest, and enthusiasm among public and non-public educational institutions in Kalamazoo County. Thanks to the support of the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, as well as a challenge grant from the Monroe-Brown Foundation, the program continues to recognize graduating high school seniors and educators. It also awards Educator Incentive Grants to enhance learning in Kalamazoo County schools.
Please join us in recognizing the top scholars that earned this honor for Parchment's Class of 2023, along with their chosen significant educators:

Murtaza Syed - Significant Educator: Branden Johnson
