Parchment News

Dear Panther Family,

This month offers a meaningful opportunity for both celebration and reflection—and we’re embracing both! Thank you to all the community members who have reached out to show support, ask questions, and share thoughtful suggestions during our Bond Project campaign. Your engagement is deeply appreciated. As Election Day approaches on Tuesday, May 6th, we encourage everyone to participate and we remain available to answer any questions you may have.

As we move through May, we are taking time to reflect on the successes and challenges of this school year while also looking ahead to the year to come. Your voice matters, and we invite you to be part of shaping our future through several opportunities for involvement. Your ideas and perspectives are not only welcome—they are essential.

Strategic Planning:

The district will be engaging in the Strategic Planning Process over the next several months, and would welcome and encourage the participation of our community members. We will be allocating time at our July 28th Board meeting for open discussion, and invite interested community members to attend!

What Schools Could Be:

We are excited to host a public screening of the documentary Most Likely to Succeed, developed in partnership with author Ted Dintersmith (What Schools Could Be). This thought-provoking film explores innovative approaches to education and serves as a springboard for meaningful conversation about the learning experiences we envision for our students. Please join us for the screening and stay for a discussion that will directly inform our strategic planning.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our Parent Advisory Council members, who continue to represent their school communities with dedication. These individuals play a key role in our continuous improvement process and forward planning, and they welcome your input and collaboration as we work together to support every student.

The partnership between our schools and the greater community is vital to the growth, wellness, and success of our students—and our shared future. We are grateful to live and work in a place where our children and our schools are a priority!

Of course, May also brings much to celebrate! In just a few short weeks, we’ll proudly honor more than 100 Panther Graduates as they take their next big steps. This milestone is a testament to their dedication, the ongoing support of their families, and the tireless work of our incredible staff. Congratulations to the Class of 2025—we’re so proud of you!

In closing, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our board, administrative team, and staff for their commitment to thoughtful reflection, continuous growth, and shared progress. I look forward to moving into another year—stronger and more connected—together.

With appreciation,
