Parent/Guardians,

As we approach exams we wanted to share out the Exam policy again as 9th and 10th graders have not had a normal exams. Students were informed at the start of the 3rd trimester that we are returning to our normal Exam policy and the staff has explained that to them as well. Our normal policy is  all student are required to take exams and the exam counts towards their grade. This is the typical policy for the majority of high schools.

The only exception is if the students earn the exam waiver. There has always been, and continues to be a Waiver for exams in classes that do not receive Honor Points. (Only AP, Honors, and a few college level classes receive Honor points- the list is in the student handbook). The Exam waiver allows a qualifying student the option to not take the exam or take the exam and it can only help their grade. Here are the conditions to earn the exam waiver for each class:

  • 3 or less absences
  • No more than 2 tardies
  • 80% or better in the class
  • No discipline infractions, detentions, or removals from class

Students should be aware of their status. We also inform the teachers who has earned the waiver as we approach exams.

Please contact he High School if you have questions.
