Parchment High School Families,
Our staff health has improved and we are planning on returning to face to face instruction on Thursday, February 3rd. Unfortunately, mother nature may have different plans. Due to the weather, we may have a snow day again tomorrow. The high school has had one more closure day than the rest of the District. If the district needs to close for weather again tomorrow, this would be the high school’s 7th closure day. The state allows for 6 emergency closures in a school year. This is a problem and means that the high school would need to make up a day moving forward to balance out our days and hours of instruction with the rest of the District and to comply with state regulations.
To avoid making up a day, we are going to do distance learning if there is another snow day tomorrow. It is critical that we have students in attendance. Teachers will teach and we expect students to be online and learning. All rules apply as they did for the last week. If we don't have over 75% of students in attendance each hour, then the day will not count and we will need to make it up. That means adding a day where all students (including Seniors) will need to be in attendance.
There have been no official decisions made on whether there will be a snow day tomorrow! However, we wanted you to be prepared if the need for one arises.
Here is the Distance Learning Plan Expectations:
The following information contains the expectations, and procedures for distance learning. Students will follow their normal daily schedule and log in through their google classrooms every hour for every class.
All students are expected to log into their classes on time, ready to learn.
Attendance will be taken each hour.
Each teacher will have a google link posted.
Work will be posted in google classroom.
All students are expected to do their assigned work as normal
Some of the teaching staff are out with COVID and will be unable to be present in a google meet. They will communicate directly with their students to inform them of the expectations for class that day.
CORE - this is part of the instructional day and attendance will be taken.
Students involved in KAMSC, EMC, EFE, EFA, Dual Enrolled, etc. are expected to continue to attend classes as normal.
Transportation for off campus programming will run as usual.
Athletics/extra-curricular activities - will continue to run as normal unless otherwise noted.
All athletes are expected to attend all classes to be able to participate as normal. If you miss classes you will not be eligible to participate in your activities for that day.

Lunch will be available for students to come in and eat in the cafeteria from 11:00-12:45.
Use the athletic entrance to the building only.
