Dear Seniors and Senior Families,

It is the last week for seniors next week!!! This is an exciting time for them and us as well! This has been a long journey for your student and for you as parents. We are all looking forward to watching them receive their diploma!

Next week is finals week. Many of the Seniors took care of business and next week should be stress free with regards to academics. Unfortunately, we always have a few that are pushing the limits. All seniors must fully meet all graduation requirements by rehearsal on June 4th to participate in the Graduation Ceremonies. This includes payment of all student debts as well as passing their required classes. The seniors were given a Release Slip this week that covers everything they need to take care of to meet this expectation. Please check with your senior if you have questions.

I have updated the Graduation plans based on the current information:
The Graduation Ceremonies will be held on the High School Athletic Field on June 4th at 7:00 p.m. “Doors” will open for seating at 6:30.
  • This event will NOT be open to the public – you must have a ticket to attend.
  • Plan on limited seating based on the venue and MDHHS orders. When students get their cap/gown, we will be giving six tickets to each graduate to distribute for the Athletic Field. If the event is inside, that number will be reduced to three.
  • Weather – the event will run on 6/4. We cannot push the date back as seniors have sports finals and grad plans on the following days. If it rains, we will get wet – plan for it. If the weather is severe, we will move it indoors to the main gym. This will impact the number of guests.
  • Graduation itself will be broadcast or live-streamed (link will be shared out and posted on the website).
  • We will have Lifetouch there to take pictures of graduates receiving their diplomas.
  • All participants and guests will be required to comply with PPE requirements – masks are required and social distance with your group in the stands.
  • Guests will be seated in the home bleachers. We have a ramp for easy access to the bleachers and space for wheelchairs in the bleachers. Please contact Peggy Striebel at 488-1101 if you have a guest that needs this space as this type of seating is limited.
This is an exciting time. Please talk to your senior about making good choices over the next few weeks as we want everyone to attend the ceremonies. We will broadcast any changes as they occur.

Please join us in positive thoughts about the weather!

Sincerely,

George Stamas
