Good Afternoon Parchment High In-Person Families,

We just finished up week 1 of the return to 4 days of face-to-face instruction. It was great to see the students back! Monday and Tuesday staff and students were talking about how different it felt to be back. It took us all a few days to get used to the changes.

The week went well and we had increasing participation with the Winter Festival events. The lunch games were fun to watch and the Student Council worked hard to put together a Virtual Pep Assembly and Coronation. These events were live-streamed in the classes and Student Council will be posting them virtually.

We have all been impressed with the students and the PPE compliance. While we are now closer together in the classroom and halls, students have been very good about wearing their masks. Lunch is probably the toughest time for them to make good choices as this is the only opportunity they have to socialize. It is important the we continue this path as our goal is to remain face-to-face throughout this trimester.

We understand and are prepared for contact tracing in the event we have positive cases of COVID-19. We want you to understand our role in contact tracing is in the prevention of the spread of this virus. We hope this will not be needed but the reality is that it is possible. Parents, someone from the school will contact you directly in the event you student needs to quarantine.

Lastly, we received new MDHHS orders today that will affect our spring sports and extracurricular activities like Prom and Graduation. We will continue to adjust and communicate when we know more.

Senior Families, I will be sending out information next week on Seniors last day, Honors Night, and Graduation. Please understand that specifics on these events are moving targets and any/all of the details can change with MDHHS Orders.

Thank you to the Student and Staff for a great first week back. Thank you to the families for trusting us with your students!

Have a great weekend!
