High School In-Person Families,

We are excited to see the students back to four days a week starting Monday, March 15th.  We are anticipating this will be an adjustment as the last time they were here with larger groups was over a year ago. We have purposely not changed the structure of the day to provide stability and normalcy to students as they return.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Face-to-Face): all in person students will be in the building all day (7:30-2:30).

  • -School doors open at 7:30 and school starts at 7:45 with bell/class times the same.
  • -Students go directly to their 1st block unless they are getting breakfast.
  • -Breakfast is still free but must be eaten in the cafeteria.
  • -We have added a 3rd lunch and more lunch tables. Students can eat 3 to a table or choose to eat at individual tables.
  • -Students must leave the building immediately after school unless they have practice or arrange to stay after school to work with a teacher.

Wednesday: all students will be online

  • -Classes will run virtually at the normal bell/class times.
  • -All students are expected to log on at the start of class.
  • -Each teacher will utilize the time as best meets the needs of the class/students.

CORE- Each student has a CORE class (except pm off-campus). CORE is a class where students can get additional help/support from their teachers. It runs every day from 2:00 – 2:30.

 Health & Safety

It is critical that families continue to monitor the health of your students. Please make sure to screen your students and follow the guidelines from the Health Department or use the screening tool on our website (https://5il.co/kqfh).

There are classes that are large and students will be less than 3ft. We have moved classes to larger spaces where possible, but students will still be closer than they have been. It is important to understand your student’s health will affect the students around them. If they are not feeling well, please keep them home and call the school.

  • -Face masks are required to be worn covering the mouth and nose at all times (other than eating).
  • -Hand sanitizer stations are in each class and throughout the school.
  • -Wipes are in each class for students to clean their desk at the start of each class.
  • -Science Labs have plexiglass dividers between stations.
  • -Wednesday will still be a cleaning day for our custodial staff.

Very few students have had mask issues to date, and we have spent the last few weeks talking with students about the changes. We want to continue to have students come face-to-face, so it is critical that we maintain our efforts with the PPE and social distancing. Working together we can persevere through this situation.

Please call us if you have questions at 488-1100.

 Sincerely,

 George Stamas
