Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
We are finishing the first two weeks of the Virtual Plan A today. Over the last week Mrs. LeRoy and I were in many classes observing and evaluation the new system. I wanted to share with you how impressed we are with your students. Our attendance and participation have been outstanding these first two weeks. The majority of the students are online and engaged on the google meets.
To give an example, we had a situation this week where the internet at the school went out for 10 minutes and the teacher got disconnected. I happened to be in the class observing and on my hotspot. I did not get disconnected. The students in the session not only stayed in the google meet, but the leaders pulled up the work the teacher had been showing and they continued to proceed through it until the teacher returned. I cannot tell you how proud I am of them! What a great example of Parchment Pride!
On behalf of the staff, I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for the support you have provided and continue to provide! This change to the Virtual Plan A was not anticipated and the majority of the students have made the transition very well. This is due to your support! THANK YOU!
The current MDHHS orders expire December 20th. If there are more extensions to this order, or additional changes, we will communicate. Parchment Schools is on Winter Break starting December 18th through January 3rd. Our plan is to return to Hybrid learning January 4th with the Hybrid A students coming into the building and Hybrid B students starting online work.
We hope that everyone has a healthy, safe break and lets hope for a better 2021!
