Solar Eclipse 2024 - Important Please Read
On April 8th, a total solar eclipse will make its way across North America. With such a monumental event occurring during the school day, we will be viewing as a school WITH protective glasses and students will participate in eclipse learning activities. We will go over safety precautions with each student, but encourage you to also go over them with your child (listed below). Please let us know if you DO NOT want your child to view the solar eclipse by filling out this form.
Safety Guidelines to review with your student:
The eclipse glasses must be kept on at all times during viewing and removing glasses, even temporarily, may have serious effects on the participant's eyes.
Students should be encouraged to take breaks and look away from the sun to give their eyes a rest. Even with eclipse glasses, students should not stare continuously at the sun.
Any student not following safety precautions or not taking directions seriously will be sent inside.
