Parchment Water Update - August 2018
Posted: August 30, 2018
As you are aware, the water advisory was recently lifted for the Parchment municipal water system and we are well within the safe drinking water standards. We have thoroughly flushed all impacted school buildings. Our impacted buildings have been tested independently as well.
We have been in constant communication with the experts on this matter and how this impacts our school buildings. We have been given the all clear to return to normal usage of our water.
The process does not stop here. Weekly testing will be conducted for the immediate future. This will then move to monthly testing for the next year. After that, quarterly testing will be conducted. The response to this issue has been swift and effective and I want to thank the agencies involved in the process.
My communication is coming later than the declaration from the government. That reason is simple; we wanted to ensure we have performed all actions within our power to provide safe water for our students and staff.
At this point, we are able to resume normal water usage. Again, I want to thank the agencies involved for their efforts to remediate this problem and for their communication and guidance with our school district.
We look forward to seeing all of our students return to school on Tuesday!
