Woodworking Technology I

Course Number:  #317

Length Of Course: 1 Trimester – ½  Credit

Prerequisites:  None

Grade Level:  9 - 12

An entry-level woodworking class that is designed around learning to use a variety of woodworking machinery through construction of assigned projects. Safety and quality will be stressed. 

 

Modern Technology

Course Number:  #320

Length Of Course: 1 Trimester – ½  Credit

Prerequisites:  None

Grade Level:  9 - 12

This course is designed to explore technological systems, ranging from information to physical technology as they relate to our world. Students will be involved in numerous hands-on activities such as CO2 powered vehicles, basic drafting skills, bridge aerospace and solar-powered vehicles.

 

Woodworking Technology II

Course Number:  #318

Length Of Course: 1 Trimester – ½  Credit

Prerequisites:  Woodworking Technology I

Grade Level:  10 - 12

An advanced woodworking class with the focus on the use of shaping machines – router, shaper, lathe and basic wood joints with the completion of assigned projects.  A final project of student’s choice is required.  The emphasis is on safety and quality.

 

Engineering Drafting

Course Number:  #321

Length Of Course: 1 Trimester – ½ Credit

Prerequisites:  None

Grade Level:  10 - 12

This course is a must for any student who is considering any type of technology-based career including engineering, machinist, mechanics, and many other professions. How parts look, how they are drawn, and their dimensions will be studied.  In addition, traditional and computer-assisted drafting techniques will be studied.

 

Woodworking Technology III

Course Number:  #319

Length of Course:  1 Trimester – ½ Credit

Prerequisites:  Woodworking Technology II

Grade Level:  10 – 12

This woodworking class is designed around the student.  The student will build projects to meet his/her own needs.  The emphasis is on safety and quality.  This class may be repeated for credit.

Architectural Drafting

Course Number:  #322

Length of Course:  1 Trimester – ½ Credit

Prerequisites:  None

Grade Level:  10 – 12

This course provides the basic information necessary for planning various types of dwellings.  It presents basic instruction in preparing architectural working drawings using traditional as well as computer-based methods.
