Our School

Barclay Hills offers many of the same core curriculum classes found in a traditional high school, but many classes are career focused. Our introductory English classes focus on technical reading and writing, and math classes are based in practical applications, such as personal finance and budgeting.

All students take a series of career courses.

  • Careers I and II teach financial responsibility, entrepreneurship, business skills, and explore career interests.
  • Careers III is almost entirely online. Students use the WIN for WorkKeys program and earn a Certificate of Career Readiness when completed. This certificate is becoming nationally recognized by employers.
  • Careers IV has students complete a resume and cover letter, practice interview skills, learn soft skills, complete college and financial aid applications, and volunteer at area businesses.

For students interested in credit retrieval, all credits earned at Barclay Hills can be transferred to traditional high schools. For students who choose to complete their education at Barclay, features of our high school and G.E.D. program are listed below.
