Student Council

2015-2016 Projects & Activities

The Northwood Student Council is dedicated to serving our community through various charitable donations. These are the projects and activities planned for the 2015-2016 school year.

  • Parchment Community Food Drive - The Northwood Student Council will team up with the Parchment High School Student Council to collect items for the Parchment Community Food Drive.
  • Partnership With The Friendship Village Nursing Home - The Northwood Student Council makes projects, cards and gifts for the residents at the Friendship Village Nursing Home in Kalamazoo.
  • Earth Day Cleanup - The Student Council Representatives will work on cleaning up the Northwood neighborhood! We will also educate others about ways that they can help keep our school and neighborhood clean!
  • Pennies for Patients - We will be participating with the Pennies for Patients program during the month of May! We will be asking students to collect change that they can donate to Pennies for Patients. The money collected will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Northwood Spirit Days

The Northwood Student Council will also be asking students to participate in spirit days one Friday each month. Each student that participates will earn 1 point that will be added to their class "spirit points" for the month. The class that earns the most spirit points each month will be awarded the NORTHWOOD SPIRIT PANTHER during the ABC assembly! Let the Spirit Race begin!!!

The spirit day schedule is:

  • Oct. 23rd- Tie Dye Day
  • Nov. 13th- 80 s Day
  • Dec. 18th- Pajama Day
  • Jan. 8th- Dress to Impress Day
  • Jan. 22nd- Hat Day
  • Feb. 5th- Favorite Sports Team Day
  • Feb. 15th- Dress like a President Day
  • March 2nd- Silly Sock Day
  • March 11th- Dress like your Future Career Day
  • March 25th- Dress like a Book Character Day
  • March 31st- Pajama Day
  • April 15th- Backwards Day
  • April 29th- Tacky Tourist Day
  • May 20th- Tie Dye Day
  • May 26th- Beach Day
