All Music courses are electives and will help fulfill the elective graduation requirement.

Band

Course Number:

#335, #336, #337 – 9th and 10th Grade

#332, #333, #334 – 11th and 12th Grade

Length Of Course: 3 Trimesters – 1-1/2  Credits

Prerequisites:  Previous band experience or teacher approval

Grade Level:  9 - 12

The band is the instrumental-performing ensemble in the high school. The course is designed to develop the individual student’s abilities, and to blend the performers into a highly polished ensemble. The band performs at football and basketball games, parades, pep assemblies, concerts, band festivals and occasional out-of-town performances. Students will be required to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances. 
Choir

Course Number:  #339

Length Of Course: 1, 2 or 3 Trimesters – ˝  Credit each Trimester

Prerequisites:  None

Grade Level:  9 - 12

Choir is a course open to all Parchment High School students who enjoy singing. Course work will include basic musicianship, fundamentals of singing, sight-reading and ear training. Music will include a wide variety of styles from popular to classic.
