The primary
format of the course will be 35mm black and white film, with some
color photography. The course will introduce the
basics of photocomposition,
lighting techniques, optics, focal length, lens selection, F-stops,
shutter speeds and film speeds. The basics of black and white film
developing, printing and darkroom techniques will also be taught.
This is an elective course. Students will organize a portfolio of
five (5) shooting assignments, complete with negatives and prints.
This is theirs to keep at the end of the trimester. There is a
course fee of $15.00. Science credit is not given. |

Students will actively
participate in all of the processes, which lead to the production of
a yearbook. This will include: photography, layout and design,
advertising, typing, accounting, artwork, and composing body copy.
This is an elective course. English credit is not given.
Students must submit a completed application to be considered for
